Chief Financial Officer & Principal
Elaine Clancy is the Chief Financial Officer of Municipal Acquisitions and is responsive for overseeing the firm’s capital raising and financial activities. Elaine Clancy has over 20 years of experience in real estate finance and investment banking, with expertise in public-private partnerships, leasing, development, real estate financing and investment banking. She has provided capital raising services and financial analysis to numerous real estate companies, including many large, publicly-traded REITs.
Prior to joining Municipal Acquisitions, Ms. Clancy served as the Senior Vice President – Government Services Group for Lincoln Property Company, where she was responsible for leading the company’s government real estate efforts. Prior to joining Lincoln, Ms. Clancy served as the Director of Leasing for the U.S. General Services Administration in the National Capital Region. In this capacity, she was responsible for overseeing a leasing portfolio totaling approximately 56 million square feet and managed a department of over 200 employees. While at the GSA, Ms. Clancy also served as the head of the selection authority for the Old Post Office, which is a successful public-private partnership redevelopment project with the Trump Organization. Before the GSA, Ms. Clancy was a Managing Director and Founder of Celtic Capital Management, where she advised real estate, student housing, financial services and technology companies on strategy, acquisitions and capital raising.
Before founding Celtic Capital, Ms. Clancy served as Managing Director, Real Estate Principal Investing and Management and as Vice President, Corporate and Real Estate Development for Choice Hotels International, one of the largest US hotel franchise companies.
Ms. Clancy has served as the Chief Financial Officer of a private REIT and as a senior investment banker with Friedman, Billings, Ramsey, Legg Mason and Ferris Baker Watts, completing over $5 billion in capital markets transactions. Ms. Clancy also has experience with local and international real estate firms, including Jones Lang LaSalle and Combined Properties.
Ms. Clancy has an MBA in Finance and Organizational Behavior from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from James Madison University. She is active in a number of professional and other organizations including Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), McLean Youth Athletics (First Vice President) and has lectured on real estate and private equity investing at the graduate level.
